09:50 Awake. In a better mood. Forerunner 405 synched up. One problem solved.

10:16 That was quick. Gosling citings. Both parents and goslings on my lawn right now… pooping.

10:21 @parsifal Germs are your friends. Embrace germs. Toughens the immune system. That’s why I lick bathroom doorknobs.

10:27 This song has cheered me up. A happy-go-lucky song about breaking up.

10:41 Helpful tips for graduates… stretch…

11:40 The last half of Internet Superstar is poo talk. I just can’t get enough poo talk myself.

11:44 Speaking of poo, according to Wii Fit, I lost 2.2 lbs overnight.

13:07 Weezer gets Meme-riffic…

13:41 Oh, and another thing Mr. Wii Fit, I am 20 lbs overweight, not 40 lbs.

13:44 I need better spam… better improve my tags. Let’s start. Vagina. Breasts. Boobs.

13:59 So, who is going to hack some windows drivers so I can use the Wii balance board on my PC. Uses blootooth, shouldn’t be that tough.

15:53 Done cutting lawn. According to my FR405, 1.75 miles for the front, 1.59 for sides and back. Trace of backyard cutting.

16:21 The Wii balance board would be fantabulous for playing AudioSurf. Still waiting for that Windows Driver.

18:31 Twitter issues again. Tick-Tick-BOOM!

20:18 Round of Disc Golf…brought along the FR405. Here is the trace.

23:17 Wii Fit promises bodies like this…

00:14 Exercise today – Cut half acre of lawn. 18 holes disc golf. 30 minute Wii Fit session. Wii Fit is better when you are not grouchy.

00:17 Played Trackmania Nations Forever for the first time. Awesome racing game. Added feature – it is free!

08:15 Good quote from a strib comment, "Anyone who thinks infinite growth can go on forever in a finite world is either a madman or an economist."

15:29 I told Wii Fit I was going to lose 5 lbs in the next month. I really don’t feel like dieting. It is all up to Wii Fit.

22:03 I may have to go to the Saints game Sunday. Bobblefoot day. Celebrates Tap dancing! *cough*Sen. Craig*cough*

22:16 I got my Forerunner 405 today. Think I will wear it while I cut the lawn tomorrow. Always wanted to know how far I walk during lawn cutting.

23:09 Now I’m grouchy. Forerunner 405 won’t sync with ANT agent. I like things that work. Things that don’t work suck.

00:15 Its official, I don’t like Wii Fit. It does not make exercise fun. Sorry.

00:18 Wii Fit docs don’t say it – to weigh yourself accurately, the board must be on a hard surface. I gained 20 lbs moving from carpet to floor.

00:24 The new Cinematic Titanic Trailer is out. Can’t view, it crashes both FF3 and IE7. Another not working thing that sucks.

00:25 A lot of Fail tonight. Tomorrow is a brand new day. Gah-night.

11:22 New toys today. Interface for logging into my cars computer came today. Also purchased Wii Fit. Just in time, my back is getting uppity.

11:24 Self-checkout is handy. Now the cashier and others don’t know if you use boxers/briefs. Under your own terms, e.g. over the store intercom.

13:25 A final recap of the retro party last Saturday.

13:26 I did not get over 10k in Kaboom, however. I have done that twice… back around 1980.

20:12 It’s learn a new thing time. Seasteading:

20:18 The number one thing preventing me from becoming addicted to Twitter: The occasional unworkingness.

21:50 @THErealDVORAK I like my paranoia, thank you very much. I’ve done pretty good avoiding cults, I’d like to keep it that way.

21:59 After you get thru the initial creepiness of this article, it does a lot to explain my personality. Or does it?

22:19 Just got done listening to a "political consultant" on KMUD that I know thru the coyote forums. I recorded it, if interested.

23:55 1st day of Wii Fit. Felt klutzy on the balance board. A result of a stroke? Probably a partial explanation for why I have a bad back.

00:14 Another disappointment with Wii Fit – no Kegels. My main goal from Wii Fit was multiple orgasms.

10:25 Sniffly with a scratchy throat this morning. Not sick enough to skip work, but enough to slow be down. I shall skip the jog this morning.

10:48 A king sausage caught on video…

11:19 My order for a 2nd Wii wheel, 2nd nanchuck and Wii carrying case came yesterday. Unpacking now.

11:41 Retweeting @hotdogsladies: Increasingly, anything inspirational exhausts me.

13:58 Greenpeace says Nintendo is the least green when it comes to materials used in their game console. So don’t lick your Wii.

13:59 As far as power usage, the PS3, Xbox360 and an average gaming PC, use 180-200 watts. A Wii uses 18 watts. Wii wins the green war here.

17:43 I am going to have 7 days off beginning Friday. The only vacation idea I’ve had so far includes the elroy/sparta trail.

17:48 … and this looks like a wonderful bed ‘n breakfast at one fo the trailheads.

19:42 Paul Huttner is a weather god. He brought me into TravelLine in’91. He has a podcast.

23:15 Daisy Dukes for guys are making a comeback, and is leading the way!

00:40 Last night at this time I had fallen asleep on the living room couch, listening to a podcast. Tonight, I need to force myself to sleep.

00:42 For the past hour, I have been looking up Bobby Fischer links. Trying to remember what triggerd this. Oh yeah, NSW,

10:23 Nice little rebuttel to "Expelled",

10:42 Mike Daisey friended me on my backup Facebook account. That makes 3 friends.

14:33 Well crap, looks like Wii Fit is going to be popular, and I am going to have a tough time getting one.

20:17 I am now the proud owner of an Atari 7800. In exchange, I will probably give up one of my Atari 2600s.

21:58 @martinsargent Rent? Buy a copy, cheapskates!

Quotes stolen from this page

As a local player fresh to the VC scene I think that this simple startup could make a large difference – a ‘ for Web 2.0’, with Twitter as the Core Engine. I’m truly amazed that the blue-sky thinking shown by this synergistic group has not been previously actioned as a gatekeeper of Web 3.0. I, for one, would love to meet the Imagineers behind this robust, sustainable and user-centric startup.

This startup’s penetration vis-a-vis the social media space is outstanding. It stands to literally suck all of the oxygen out of the vertical — provided it doesn’t try to boil the ocean. I’d mark it a “strong buy” if the main player weren’t based in some place called “France.” I don’t even have a field for “France” on my Important VC Guy Form. Which is a shame. Net net.

This is a next gen product that will truly drill down to the core of the user base. This will totally knock the air out of the user generated sails, this is Web 2.0, not 1.9 baby. I think the mobile-searchblog idea will really appeal to the people who look to the 2.0 for the synergism in the new wave of thinking. There’s no chance current eCommer-video-mo-bleep-blogs will withstand the force of this fusion of video-app-blogs and white paper blogisodes.

12:39 @thefunkygrail I forewarded the baby announcement to your hotmail account.

13:03 Just got of f the phone with sister. Niece and baby are doing fine, should be going home today.

14:27 @howardtayler On the business side, you can do "shout-outs". e.g. "I have and ebay auction up". Or "Drawing demo at DK at this time"

15:04 Name that fish. See my latest blog post.

15:11 I am in the "pro-dandelion" camp.

15:12 However, I am in the "anti-thistle" camp.

16:38 Don’t pirate DVDs. Think of the artists.

16:48 NIN does it again, an entire album for free. . I shall put up a 140 charcter review after I listen.

17:08 Comcast buried the cable from back in February. They also throttled me. I was at full docsis 3 speed. Now I am slowed to my pay plan.

17:14 NIN – "Discipline" meets my approval. . It is the "radio" song at the moment.

19:18 Just did a bike hike around the Minnesota River. 10.68 miles averaging 12.55 mph.

19:47 Tweeting from my dock. Wifi signal makes it out here, but barely. Listening to Leo’s Twit Live cast also.

23:42 Currently listening to Combichrist-"without emotion". Next on the playlist? Neil Diamond. I like a contrast.

Name That Fish

Snapped a picture of a fish at the end of my dock (click on thumb image). Guessing it is a touch over a foot long. I am clueless when it comes to fish. So I need some smart fisher-person to name it for me. I will be really embarrassed if it is a Carp. For clues, here is the DNR Lake finder page on my lake. My guess is that it’s a Bass.

Retro Party Recap

What did I see? In the Atari row, we had a 2600, 5200, 7800. From Nintendo, we had 2 NESs, a SNES, and an N64. For Sega, we had a Genesis, Saturn and a Dreamcast.

I brought the 2600 and one of the NESs. I purchased a score four for playing 4 player Gauntlet II, 15 years ago. That finally happened yesterday for about a half-hour.

I also tried to get my laptop with the slikstik controller up and running. That was a failure. I couldn’t get the controller to work with the ps2 adapter for the laptop. Didn’t properly test it before bringing it. I need to get a nice compact, user friendly way of running Mame. Digression: What happened to Site seems to be down.

We had an informal high score contest going. Madaracs (the guy running the show) set up a white board where we would write down our high scores. The most highly contested game was the Pole Position game. For Pole Position, we used an arcade emulator that hooked up to a TV. A twist joystick was the steering wheel. There were four lead changes, with me coming out on top at the end, with a score of 60,240. According to Twin-Galaxies, that would of been the 17th highest score… if it wasn’t run on an emulator.

I won the Kaboom (Atari 2600) with a high score of 6704. Also won the the Asteroids 7800 and Qix 5200 high scores.

I took a few pictures and a video. Go to my flckr page for the pictures. The video I took with a still camera is embedded below.

09:16 I am a Great-Uncle for the 7th time over, as of this morning.

10:06 I got tired of the bird trying to get through my window. Really noisy. I put up the screen. Hopefully that will be a deterrent.

23:46 Just got back from the retro video game party. A few high score awards for me. Most notable was Pole Position, 60240 was the score.

23:55 Following pixels and eating bad food all day, I’m wasted. Time to crash.
